Memorial Day Weekend
My first stop this weekend was Downtown St. Cloud. It’s tiny and it was really hot, so I didn’t stay for very long. I did enjoy Madilynns Craft Coffee Shop, and would definitely return if I ever end up in St. Cloud again.
On Sunday morning, my son and I went to Collect-a-Con Orlando, “the nation’s largest trading card, anime, and pop culture convention.” It is overwhelmingly a Pokemon-focused, which is why my son wanted to go. He found a few cards that he really wanted, and we got to see a lot of incredibly expensive pieces of cardboard. At least they’re cooler than Beanie Babies, I suppose.
Finally, I spent some time walking around Lake Eola. It’s the Sunday before Memorial Day, so plenty of people were out at the bars and clubs to the east of the lake. I didn’t get a lot of shots, but I liked some of them.
That last set of photos was the first with a newly-acquired Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.7. Not the best lens for street photography, honestly, with its 75mm effective length on the Fuji’s APS-C, but when you get the focus right it takes pretty pictures.
